Catching Up

We had a lovely Easter, hope you did too.  Now the kids have gone and the house seems so quiet and lonely. It was so nice having them here.  The grands have gotten so tall and the oldest is so man-like - he has manners and everything.  Time goes so darn fast - it seems like only yesterday we were awaiting his arrival into this world.

They are looking into colleges and we'll meet them again for lunch tomorrow before they head back home. Now its laundry and getting ready to go play nursemaid.  I'm neither a good nurse nor patient so send me all the positive thoughts you can.

Everything seems to be happening at once.  Finding Love at the Trail's End is my latest book and it came live yesterday.  See the cover on the side. It's a period western and here's a blurb. Lily Rose Cochrane grew up the spoiled daughter of a prosperous midwestern couple. That is, until she was fifteen.  Then her life changed dramatically.  Her mother passed and her father turned to the bottle leaving her to pick up the pieces.

Feeling the weight of too many burdens placed on her young shoulders, she is looking for a way out.  She thinks she may have found it in Johnny Billings.  He’s a scout for a wagon train and is smitten with her. Unfortunately, he's not ready to make a commitment but Lily finds a way around his reticence.

What follows is the story of young love, loss and finding love again.

I really enjoyed writing this story and hope you'll enjoy reading it.  See you later for more Aimless Ramblings.

Family Secrets

Hope you all enjoyed a nice Easter Weekend. It was a lovely day here - we had a houseful for dinner. Our grands and their parents are here with us so it was hectic, noisy and lots of fun.  I hate going to a restaurant for holidays - usually not the best food or service, so I made an easy dinner at home. It's not very hard to throw a ham in the oven.

I'm starting a new story this week.  It will run over the next three weeks, maybe even four.  I'm off to help a sick friend for the next three weeks so I've written and set these up ahead of time.  If I get some time, I'll check in.  If not, oh well, I'll see you later.

Here is the first part of Family Secrets

Angela’s heart was broken.  Her precious Aunt Rose had passed and she was left entirely alone in the world.  She and her aunt had been inseparable, which seemed strange to outsiders, considering the difference in their ages.  Aunt Rose took over raising Angela when she lost her mother to cancer.  Her father had long been out of the picture so it was only natural that Aunt Rose, her mother’s only relative, would step in and raise Angela.

Aunt Rose was very much like Auntie Mame.  She was a flamboyant character and believed in living life to the fullest.  Luckily for her, her first husband was wealthy and although he died very young, he left her fixed for life (so to speak).  Until she took over raising Angela, she traveled the world on one long cruise after another. People who thought raising Angela would slow down Rose McCabe were wrong.  She simply took Angela along on her journeys.  It was her belief that traveling the world would give Angela as much education as sitting in a stodgy old school room and better prepare her for living in a world that was constantly changing.

Having a full-on pity party for herself, she slumped down on Aunt Rose’s bed.  When the doorbell rang, she simply ignored it.  However, the person at the other end was persistent and the bell rang again and again until Angela couldn’t stand it any longer.  She yanked open the door so hard, it banged against the wall.

Standing there was Mr. Duvall, her aunt’s attorney.  “What can I do for you?” she said in her best snarly tone.

Angela had never like Mr. Duvall and was always amazed that Aunt Rose did.  He was a stodgy old curmudgeon and nothing like the people who usually took care of her affairs.

“I have here some letters and a video left for you by your aunt.  I was to deliver them to you personally.”

“Well, you did. Thank you.”  She tried to take the envelope but Mr. Duvall wouldn’t let go.

“According to your aunt’s instructions, I’m to be here with you for the watching of the video and the reading of the letters.”

“You want to do it now?”

“No time like the present,” he replied as he pushed past her and walked in the door.

“I know you never liked me much, but you’re going to learn some things today that might make a difference. Where’s your player?” holding the DVD in his hand.  She led him to the living room and asked if he wanted anything to drink.

“Yes, a stiff drink, gin if you have it.”  She looked surprised but when she returned she had a glass filled with two fingers of  gin and a separate glass filled with ice cubes.

“Didn’t know if you wanted these or a mixer of any kind,” she said handing him the glass with the ice cubes.

“This is good.  Thank you.  I’m going to put the video in first and then we’ll read the letter.  I will do my best to answer any questions.”

Angela sat back in the chair  as Aunt Rose’s image appeared on the screen.  She’d apparently done this recently because Angela recognized the sweater set they had purchased on their last shopping trip before she became too ill to leave the house.

The tears started coursing down her cheeks as she heard her aunt’s voice.  ‘These are answers to questions you’ve asked many times and although I never lied, I never told the truth either.’   Fifteen minutes later, Angela’s whole world was upside down.  She learned that Mr. Duvall was her uncle.  His brother Arthur and her mother had a torrid love affair when they were younger.  He was married at the time and never divulged the fact to her mother.  When her mother became pregnant and went to him, he denied her and she married the man Angela thought was her father.  Obviously, it was a loveless marriage and his leaving was the best thing for all.

Arthur Duvall confided in his brother that Angela was his child and arranged for care for her and her mother with the proviso that Angela never learn of his identity.  William Duvall became the go between and continued as such long after Arthur’s death.

Angela was stunned, she wasn’t capable of any words only tears that continued down to stream down her cheeks.

“I’m sorry Angela.  I know this is a shock but after Arthur and your mother’s death, your Aunt saw no reason to burden you with things long past over.  Can you read the letter, or would you like me to read it to you?”

“You read it.”

He unfolded the letter and began.

            My sweet girl.  Don’t hate me.  I always planned on telling you face to face someday when you were older but never had the courage.  This really doesn’t change anything except that you now have answers to questions and know there is still family around.  I know how you feel about George, but he is your uncle and if you’re interested there are cousins. That’s between you and George.

            I want you to take one last trip with me.  I would like you to take my ashes to a little cottage in Hope Town. A lovely name, don’t you think?  Anyway, I digress.  Hope Town is a quaint village on the island of Elbow Key, Abaco, The Bahamas. Please                scatter them over the beach at rising tide so I can ride the waves one last time.

You’ve never been there I’ve always kept it to myself. Rory and I discovered it and bought it on our honeymoon.  It’s a place we always found peace and it’s the place I always felt the closest to him.  The cottage is now yours and I hope you find your love there as I found mine.

I love you girl as my own.

 Her uncle refolded the letter and handed it to Angela.  “Do you have any questions?”

“I’m too shocked to process it right now but I may in the future.  I’m sorry I’ve treated you poorly all these years.  It’s uncanny that subconsciously I transferred the feelings I had about my father onto you.”

“It’s okay, I understand and never took it personally.  What are your plans?”

“I guess I’m off to the Bahamas.  I assume you have the details.”

“I do, I’ll make arrangements to have the cottage aired out and prepared for your arrival.”

“Thank you…I’m not sure what to call you, are you Uncle William or still Mr. Duvall?”

“That’s your choice, Angela.”

                             ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Angela flew into Marsh Harbor and took a cab to the dock where she boarded the ferry across to Elbow Key.  She stepped off the ferry and saw a man holding a sign with her name.
“Hello, I’m Micah Jameson, the caretaker of Winston Cottage,” all said in the melodious island lilt with a British accent. “Welcome to Elbow Key, Ms. Duncan. We will be at the cottage anon.”
She loved listening to him speak, he was so very formal.  He opened the back door of the vehicle and she climbed in the front.  She could see by his expression that it miffed him because it wasn’t proper.  “I can see you take after your Aunt, Ms. Duncan.”
“What a lovely thing to say and please call me Angela or Abby, whichever you wish.”
“I prefer Ms. Duncan.”
“Well, don’t expect me to always respond.”  He huffed a little.  “Very well.”
They turned away from the dock area and drove down a street lined with trees, turned off onto a dirt road and stopped.  Winston Cottage was painted on the sign attached to a white picket fence.  “It’s how mail is addressed here.  Each place has it’s own name rather than numbers.”
“How lovely,” she replied.  The cottage was white-washed and stood out among the island greenery, dotted here and there with brilliant yellow and red hibiscus.  Two white wooden rockers, shaded by palmettos sat on the porch.  She walked into a large room, in the center stood a stone fireplace that obviously provided the only heat needed in this warm climate.  French doors led to a large deck that overlooked the ocean, with the harbor off in the distance to the left.
She immediately felt in love with Winston Cottage and couldn’t see how she could ever leave. The doors were open and the white curtains billowed in the breeze bringing in the wonderful scent of the floral garden and the saltiness of the sea breeze.  As she breathed in the scents and sounds of the island, a peace settled over her.
“Where would you like me to put your things, Ms. Angela?”
“Ms. Angela, that’s a start.  Why not just set them down there and I’ll decide later. I want to see the rest of the cottage first. You don’t have to stick around, Micah. I can call you Micah, can’t I?”
“As you wish.” She gave him a salute and the look that was returned was anything but happy.
She watched him go and for the first time realized he was much younger than she originally thought.  His stodginess made him seem older than his years, perhaps it was his upbringing or his station in life.  As he retreated, she noticed his muscular, tanned calves and the way his well- tailored shorts hugged his backside, all tight and crisp, just like the rest of him.
hmphf’ she said to herself and swore she heard Aunt Rose chuckle.
Turning to her right, she walked down the short hallway to the light and airy master suite. It too had French doors leading to the deck and off to the side a small bathroom with a large shower. She walked out onto the deck and dropped into one of the lounges.  She caught sight of Micah walking down the path and her mind began to conjure up all manner of scenarios all ending with their bodies melding together.
Monday's Spanking Story
Hello spring, it's such a beautiful time of year.  I love watching the dormant trees take on their mantle of green, the flowers showing us their beautiful faces.  Even the birds take on a more joyful sound as they fly around calling for a mate or gathering makings for a new home if they've already found that mate.  Soon we'll be seeing Mama Quail with her babies scampering behind like a game of Follow the Leader.  Anyway, I hope spring has sprung where you are and for those of you on the other side of the world, enjoy fall with its very own wonders.
As I said last week, this is the last installment of FFE.  I can hear the comments now but end it as you will.
Click here to read from the beginning.
When Monday morning arrived, Katrina had made her decision.  She arrived at work earlier than normal and was surprised to find people already at work.
“Good Morning, Katrina.  I’m happy to see you here.  How was your weekend and are you feeling better.”  Don Kostas asked as he poked his head into her cubby.
“I am feeling better, thank you.  I’ve had better weekends, though.  How was your weekend?”
“Like you, I’ve had better weekends.  Are you ready to tackle a new project?”
“You might want to rethink that.”  She handed him a letter.   He carefully opened the envelope and didn’t seem that surprised to find her letter of resignation.  “Are you sure about this, Katrina?”
“Yes.  I hate the thought of leaving FFE but after careful consideration, I felt it is the best decision for me.”
He sidled up beside her and whispered in her ear.  “Because of what happened at Wink.”
“Partly, but there are extenuating circumstances.”
“Okay then, FFE’s usual booth at Mallory’s, tonight at 8:00  The usual work crowd should be gone by then and we can discuss this further."
“Sounds good.”
“I still want you to take a look at the new project and you can give me your thoughts. I’ll hold onto this until then,” he said as he put the letter in his jacket pocket.
                     ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Katrina went to her cubby and listened to her messages and tackled the mountain of paperwork that had accumulated since she left the previous Thursday.  Her growling stomach was sending her a message and when she looked at her watch it was already 3:30.   Grabbing the folder Don had given her that morning, she went to the breakroom for something to nosh.

She poured herself some coffee and grabbed a packet of snack crackers from the machine.  She opened the folder and almost spit out the coffee the mouthful she had just sipped.  There, in front of her, was the blueprint for her future at FFE.  FFE was taking on a project near and dear to her heart and she was being given the opportunity to be in on the ground floor.  Was she willing to throw this away?    ‘Damn him,’ she exclaimed outloud.

“Pardon me.”  Katrina whipped around to see a tall, handsome man standing next to the machine.

“I’m sorry.  I thought I was alone,” Katrina told him.

“I’m happy to hear that because I didn’t think I’d be damned already.  After all, I just started today.”

“Welcome aboard.  I think you’ll like FFE, it’s a great place to work.”  She extended her hand to him.  “I’m Katrina Lambert.”

“Nice to meet you, Katrina.  I’m Lucas Donahue.”  She noted the smoothness of his skin and the well manicured nails as they shook hands.  ‘Get a grip, girl.’

“So Lucas, where are you from?  I can’t help but notice your accent.”

“It always gives me away.  I’m originally from Ireland and the lilt never disappears.  I guess it’s the piece of Ireland that always stays with me.”

“Well, it’s charming and I can’t imagine why you would want to lose it.”  He had the look of mischief about him and when he smiled at her remark, the smile went all the way to crisp blue eyes that twinkled.

“Well, I better get back to work, shouldn’t sluff off on my first day here. Nice meeting you Katrina.  I’m sure we’ll bump into each other again.”

“Bumping into you will be a pleasure, Lucas.”  She gave him her best smile and couldn’t believe herself, here she was flirting with a new employee.  A damned good-looking one at that - one she wouldn’t mind getting to know on a more intimate basis.  What the hell is going on with me?  She finished her crackers and went back to work.  Her mind constantly wandered toward Lucas and she had to find out more about him.

She Googled him and found him on LinkedIn.  The most important thing she learned was that he was unattached.  He came from a wealthy family, had attended school in England and moved to America ten years ago.  She was still digging when her phone buzzed, indicating a text.

“I’m at Mallery’s, are you coming?”  She texted Don back that she was just finishing up and would be over shortly.  She couldn’t believe she was so engrossed finding out about Lucas Donahue she had completely lost track of time.

When she arrived, Don was sitting at their ususal table.  “What kept you so late? I was beginning to think you changed your mind about meeting.”

“I was trying to catch up and lost track of time.”  It was funny, she wasn’t the least bit nervous around Don – nada, nothing, nil.  She was glad Don said he would hold onto her letter of resignation because right now she saw no reason she couldn’t continue at FFE.

Don ordered her a drink.  “So we’re back to where everything started, aren’t we?”

“Well, not quite, Don.  But we are here at Mallery’s having a drink.  I looked at the new project.  I’m impressed and overwhelmed you would want me to work on it with the other heavy hitters.”

“Does that mean you don’t want to hand in your letter of resignation?”

“Yes, it does and thank you for that.”

“You’re welcome.  There are conditions, however.”

“What conditions?”

“I don’t know what you expected after last Thursday, but Martin the Masked Man and Miranda are over.   Shame on me but the lines became too blurred.  I had an attraction to you and let it get in the way. From now on it’s strictly business."

She blushed and nodded her head in agreement.  The server came to take their order when Don told her they were waiting for someone to join them.  Katrina was startled and Don explained he wanted her to meet someone.  “I wanted to get our conversation out of the way first, so I asked him to join us later.”  He looked up.  “Here he comes now.”

Katrina turned around to see Lucas Donahue walk toward them.

“Lucas meet Katrina Lambert.”

“We already bumped into each other earlier.  How was the rest of your afternoon, Kat?”

“My name is Katrina, not Kat.”

“I see the cat has claws.  Forgive me, I’m always assigning nicknames.” Lucas said.

Katrina smiled and Don spoke up.  “You know that sometimes claws get clipped but let’s not start out on the wrong foot. You might be interested to know Katrina that Lucas and I have known each other for years.  We met when I bought the club from him.”

Even in the dimness of the establishment, Katrina was sure he could see her red face.  She couldn’t think of a thing to say.

Don turned his attention to Lucas.  “What do you think so far?”

“I think things are going to work out just fine, don’t you Katrina?”

The hairs on the back of Katrina's neck were standing on end.  "I think it's going to be very interesting."

ANSWERS (continued)

Halfway through questions and answer month.  Today, I'm finishing up answering the questions posed to me.

PK asked:  What's my favorite meal?  I love food which you can tell by looking at me, picking just one meal is almost impossible.  Sushi is at the top of my list.

Will I ever share my writing with all my family?  I've shared with parts of my family, been thinking about the others.

Cat asked:  If Ray and I spend more time apart now that we're in a house.  Yes, I've made quite a few new friends and  I'm out of the house most days.  Ray and I have most evenings together.

We sold our RV to someone from the RV Park we used to stay in while we were here.

Now that we're only a state away, we'll probably see our kids more often for shorter periods.  The grands are teenagers and have their own agenda now and we're not at the top of that priority list.

Lindy Thomas asked:  If I could travel again where would I go?  I'm really not sure I could pick just one place.
Do I have a Beta reader and how did I choose them?  I have used different beta readers, chosen from among friends.
How did I choose my publishing company? I chose LSF because at the time, a blogger who is no longer around, used them.  While there are larger houses, I'm not sorry I chose them.

Ella asked:  Since I write cowboy books, what draws me to that particular setting and how does it add to developing the characters?  I grew up with Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Lone Ranger, Hopalong Cassiday and many others. They were always the good guys, so I guess the seed was planted way back then.

If anyone has any other questions, send 'em on through.  Until then, I'll see you later for more Aimless Ramblings.

What Time Is It?

Hello, another Monday is here already. If it applies to you, did you remember to change your clocks in the wee hours of Sunday morning?  I know I mentioned before, but Arizona stays in the same time zone but yesterday I pried my eyes open (not easy with all the rocks) looked at my phone and lo and behold the smartphone turned stupid.  I knew it, but yet my mind would not allow me to let it go and go back to sleep, so unofficially I went on DST too and was up before the birds and chickens.

It's turned cooler here again, actually more like normal, but no rain. Mother Nature is sure being whimsical this year - feel so sorry for those poor folks and creatures experiencing her whims.  It seems to be either all or nothing, and you just hope your somewhere in the middle.

Here is another installment of FFE.  I will finish up the story next Monday because I'm tired of it already and I bet that you are two.  Any bets on how it will end?  I have no idea and will be as surprised as you when I see where my fingers take me.

Katrina wasn’t sure what to make of what happened.  Upset at the idea of him wanting Derek to see her in the current state let her know a submissive’s life was not for her. There is no way she would allow herself to be humiliated like that.  The fact that Martin expected that made her rethink everything.  ‘Why the hell did I ever get myself embroiled in this situation.  Now I have to go to work and face him or quit a job I really like.”

When she finished dressing and stepped back into the office, it was empty.  Picking up her purse she walked toward the back door and pushed it open.  Immediately, lights began flashing and the alarm  blared out its emergency warning.  She didn’t stop to even look around, simply kept moving forward toward her car.  Half expecting someone to grab her from behind, she expelled a sigh of relief when she got in the car and hit the automatic lock button.

As she drove away, Don Kostas was standing at the exit door and waved as she went passed.

Katrina spent the rest of the night rehashing what had occurred at the club.  It didn’t help that she was hungry, and there wasn’t a thing in the house to eat.  Swallowing a sleeve of soda crackers and some canned cheese didn’t do anything but give her an upset stomach.
She decided just to go to bed but sleep alluded her and when dawn began to creep in her bedroom window, she decided to call in sick was the best option, after all, she really did feel sick to her stomach.   ‘I’ll have three days to come to terms with what I’m going to do about this work situation.’

After calling work, she went back to bed and finally slept.  It wasn’t until hearing a persistent knocking did she realize it was real and not a dream.  It was 9:30 – who the hell was at the door at 9:30 on a Friday morning.  She grabbed her robe and went to the door. Before opening, she checked the peep hole; Don Kostas stood there with a bag in one hand and Starbuck’s cups in another.

“Go away,” she told him.

“No, we have to talk, and I’m not going anywhere until we do.”

“I don’t want to speak to you.”

“I know that, but put on your big girl pants and face the music.”  Now, instead of knocking, he was laying on the doorbell and the sound was exacerbating the pounding in her head.  Finally, giving in, she unlocked and opened the door.  He pushed past her and went to the kitchen, putting the cups and bag on the table.

“Sit down,” he ordered.

“Don, this is my house and I don’t need to take orders from you.”

“I’m sorry.  Please sit.  I’m sure you haven’t had breakfast.  Let’s eat and then we can talk about what happened and what’s going to happen next.”  He pulled out a chair and waved her into the seat.  When her bottom hit the seat of the chair there was a hint of soreness, it surprised her and she winced a little as she squirmed to find a more comfortable position. She hoped she didn’t let it show, but a look at his face and that little smirk gave her the answer.    After pushing her chair close the table, he began opening the bags.

He pulled out bagels, cream cheese, and lox.  It was one of her favorite breakfasts and any resolve she had about not eating anything flew right out the window. He uncapped her favorite Mocha Java and she totally caved.  Resisting bagels, lox, cream cheese and Mocha Java was more than she could resist, even if she wasn’t starving.

After eating, Don pushed back his chair.  “Let’s talk about your calling in sick. Are you really ill?  The way you delved into breakfast, it wouldn’t seem so.”

“I didn’t have dinner last night and had a horrible night’s sleep.  There was no way I felt going into work was in my or FFE’s best interest.”

“Good reasoning, do you feel better now?”

“I guess.  I finally fell asleep after calling in so I slept a couple of hours before you woke me.  I think I needed the food too.  Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.  My question to you is are you going to allow what happened last night to ruin your life?”

“Ruin my life, no. I’ve not come to any concrete decisions except that I am not, nor will I ever be a submissive.  I don’t want to be.  Asking me to apologize to Derek in the state I was in,  pushed me over the edge.  In my mind, that wasn’t submission, that was humiliation and I couldn’t believe anyone who cared anything about me would knowingly embarrass me in that way.”

" I apologize, I was totally out of line and treated you as a member of the club, which you’re not.  Can you accept my apology and put the whole incident behind us?"

“Don, I accept your apology.  As for forgetting the whole incident, I’m not sure.  Now that I’m a little more rested and thinking clearly, I think I can.  However, I want to take the weekend and you’ll have my answer by Monday.”

“What answer is that?”

“The answer to whether or not I’ll be looking for another job."

“Is that all?"

"No, but it's all tied together."

"Speaking as Don Kostos, FFE colleague,  I hope you’ll be back.  I promise I’ll be on my best behavior as Don Kostas, not Martin the Masked Man. As for the rest..."

With that, he stood, cleaned up the breakfast remnants and walked toward the door.

“Until Monday then,” he said as he closed the door behind him.

Katrina stood there looking at the closed door and thinking that his departure, this time, was certainly different than the last.  There was a lot at stake and she had a lot of thinking to do before Monday.
                                        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just like Katrina, I have a lot of thinking to do this week.  lol.
ANSWERS
Another beautiful morning here in Arizona, it's still dark outside but not for long.  DST for a lot of you this weekend, right?   Arizona doesn't do DST so now I have to get used to the time differences again for friends and family so that I'm not calling them at 5:00 AM. Some tend to get grumpy - I know I do.
Yesterday, I asked for questions and you delivered.  I am going to answer a couple today and then the rest in another post.
abby asked what made me start writing and did I do it as a youngster.  I started writing about four years ago.  I was an avid FF reader (lurker) and the first Thanksgiving after I started blogging I sent in a story to PK - and so it goes.
Have I visited every state in the US and is there one place I haven't, that's on my wish list? No, I've never been to Washington or Alaska.  I'd love to take a trip to Washington and Vancouver.
  1. an English Rose asked: How long I've been writing and have I written books in other genres?  As I said above, I've only been writing stories and books about four years.  Before that, it was only grants, proposals, and the usual business stuff.  I've not written books in other genres - I leave that to writers much better than  I.
  2. DelFonte asked what is life like now that your static?  Life is much busier now.  We're in an area that has many activities and lots to offer.  I find I'm out at least three and sometimes four days a week - not a lot of time for writing now.
  3. Do I miss the traveling?  No, I never liked the traveling.  I liked the places we went, if that make sense.  Traveling in an RV can be harrowing - there are some narrow roads, sudden lane changes, trying to stop on a dime when someone zips in front.  Those experiences can take the joy out of traveling.  Of course, on a wide open road with no other traffic, it was wonderful.  America has some beautiful scenery to keep you occupied. It's amazing to me how we are clustered in little pockets practically living on top of one another, yet, in some places you can travel for miles and miles and there is absolutely nothing but wide open spaces.
Minelle asked when Ray and I are apart is he more likely to place in the TTWD way upon my return?  Sadly no.  I get lots of kisses, hugs and swats though. Except for a few times, unless I initiated any spanking activity, it didn't happen. It's not in his makeup although he enjoys it when we do
Thanks for the questions and I'll answer the others on another day.  BTW, LSF has boxed up five of my western short stories and are offering them in "The Dominant Cowboy."
See you later for more Aimless Ramblings.
QUESTIONS, ANYONE?
Questions anyone.  I can never think of any questions to ask.  There are answers I want but they are the answers to life's bigger issues like 'why do the swallows come back to Capistrano on March 19th?'
Anyway, if you have any questions you'd like to ask, please feel free.  If I don't know the answer, I'll either make one up or look it up on Google. Wow, how did we ever live before Google and I often think I couldn't imagine why I would want to get the internet way back when.  Now it's like air and I could probably live without it if I slept all the time, or if I was a constant bitch.  There I said it because I couldn't figure out where to put the asterisks.
If I get any questions, I'll be back for more Aimless Ramblings.
FFE returns
Hello everybody Hello.  Wasn't that a song or something from the old days.  We had a glorious week and weekend here in Arizona.  The smell of citrus blossoms is in the air and although wonderful, it can be almost overwhelming at times. My nose is constantly running and my eyes watering so I suspect I am allergic to that or something, but it's all good.
We went to the Out West Balloon Festival last evening.  It was a perfect night and seeing all those balloons flickering in the darkness was a sight to see.  We went early enough to watch them set up and inflate, it's a lot of work.  Ray has always wanted to go to the festival in Albuquerque and last night's outing was just a small portion of what it must be like in NM.  I arranged for a balloon ride for his birthday a couple of years ago and he loved it.  He was glad to wipe that off his bucket list.
Okay, enough, now to the story.
Miranda winced at the sting of the first strike of the ruler.  ‘What happened to the warm-up?’  Spanked on a bare bottom by a ruler was not what she had in mind when she went to the club that night.  It was only supposed to be a ‘business type’ meeting to go over their contract. SPLAT, the ruler struck again. ‘Damn, I’ll remember never to set foot in the club again, no matter what.  Obviously, my ass is on the line, and I have to be on my best behavior to everyone here. Whoa.” The ruler found its target again.
Martin kept delivering spank after spank until Mirando was no longer able to process any thoughts beyond the pain of the spanking.  She reached the point where her ass was numb and no longer felt the strikes the individual spanks, only the overall pain.  Giving into the pain, her body relaxed.  Martin felt it and stopped the spanking.
“Are you okay?”
“You mean other than the fact that my ass is on fire and I’ll won't’ sit comfortably for quite some time.”  He laughed.
“Yes, that.”
“Yes.”
“Good, we’re halfway through this lesson,” he said.
“What do you mean, halfway…,  as the ruler found its mark again.  She never finished the statement, only sucked in a breath as the pain returned and she tried getting off his lap.
“Stay still, or you’ll get hurt.”
“I am hurt.”]
“Obviously not enough because you’re still talking and not at all respectfully.”
“Goddam that hurts,” she said as the ruler moved to her right thigh.  The left thigh was the next to feel the pain, and she practically rolled herself onto the floor.  If Martin hadn’t grabbed hold, she would have rolled herself right out the door.
“That’s going to cost you extra,” he told her.
Martin was doing what he loved best and thoroughly enjoyed watching lily white globes turn a rosy red color.  It was his fetish and had been since puberty.  The club was his way of feeding that fetish.  He’d tried it in a personal relationship, a time or two, but the relationships always ended badly.  When he saw the advertisement for a financial partner in a business venture involving a BDSM club, he couldn’t believe the luck.  He stepped in, and he and Derek Andrews began Wink.  It turned out more successful than they had even anticipated.  With Derek as the managing partner, Don/Martin was free to participate or not in the club’s events. He had a few clients on his preferred list but mostly just came to the club when he needed to relieve some angst.  Spanking a bottom had always done that for him.
Miranda's bottom had that beautiful shiny rosy glow, and he knew it was time to stop. She had stopped squirming and complaining a few strokes back, so he knew she was more than ready.  He wondered if she knew how turned on she was by this punishment.  Her inside thighs were glistening with her juices.  They hadn’t discussed anything other than spanking.  He wondered if she expected more. He’d never crossed that line before and wasn’t sure he wanted to explore that possibility in a ‘business deal’.
“The spanking is over, only the apology is left,” he told her and began rubbing her back as he pulled her up to sit on his lap being careful to ease her down and position her so that her bottom was not touching him.  Her hair was a mess and her face almost as red as her butt and blotchy to boot. Tears were running down her cheeks, and he had the greatest urge to kiss them away. ‘Stop it,” he told himself.
Katrina enjoyed being comforted until she looked down and saw the wetness of her thighs.  She quickly jumped off his lap, wincing as her bottom scraped along the roughness of his jeans. Now, not only was her ass red but her face was just as red from embarrassment.  Catching sight of herself in the mirror along the back wall of his office, she buried her face in her hands.
Martin pointed to his washroom and excused himself, telling her he’d be back in about fifteen minutes. Katrina stumbled into the bathroom.  Her legs so stiff, she could barely walk and every step re-ignited the burn in her backside.  Closing the door behind her, and looking over her shoulder,  saw her striped backside and knew she would be feeling this spanking long into the night and probably into the next day.  ‘Is this really what I want,’ she asked herself.
Her brain said one thing but other parts of her body turned mutinous.  How could she possibly be so sexually excited about the pain and humiliation she had just experienced. She’d read about it in books but never assumed it happened in real life, only in novels.
Cautiously, she let her fingers trace the angry red lines on her ass.  The lightest touch hurt, but when she moved her fingers to her vagina,  the excitement began to build and the pain blended with the pleasure. Before she even realized what was happening she was stroking harder and harder and on the verge of orgasm when the door burst open and Martin appeared.
“What do we have here?” His presence and authoritative tone immediately squashed her orgasm.
“Get out,” she yelled, “ and close the door behind you.”
“You forget, Miranda, this is my washroom and my club, and I can do any damn thing I please. Now come out and apologize to Derek and this whole thing can be forgotten.”
“You have got to be kidding.  There is no way I am coming out and apologizing to Derek, at this minute, in this state.”
“Miranda”
“I have not signed, nor agreed to anything, so I am not obligated to jump at your command.  The answer is no.  I will apologize when I’m ready and dressed. Now close
the door behind you and leave me be. I am speaking as Katrina, not Miranda.”
Then you leave me no choice but to have you escorted out of the club.”
“Suits me fine, now let me get dressed,” she said and closed the bathroom door leaving him standing there, looking very much like Don Kostas and not Martin, the Masked Man.
